Our Story
We have been fortunate enough to travel to Italy twice in the last six years. We fell in love with the country and the food. Danny has always been a great cook, but now it’s all about Italian food.
Food has always been a big part of our family gatherings. Special requests were now coming in for his lasagna, ravioli, and pesto. So once our Friday Date Night Pizza place closed down, I knew Danny would be able to step right into making us some good pizza. He was already making his own pasta, so why not pizza dough? He started by baking them in the oven and then eventually ordered a pizza attachment for our Weber grill. It didn’t take long for Friday Date Night to turn into Friday Family Pizza Night.
Danny went through some life changing experiences leading to a desire to do something different with his life. He started researching wood fire pizza ovens and what it would take to open up a business. Once he put it out there that he was looking into starting the business, he was encouraged by family and friends. This lead to making the commitment to ordering the brick oven trailer.
Our sister-in-law, Kim Mireles, jumped right into help get things moving since at the time we both working full-time jobs. I remember asking my brother, Lawrence Mireles, if he was okay with her helping us, and I truly believe he had no idea he would end up swinging pizzas as well. Other family members have also stepped in to help when needed.
We have all found our lanes and have enjoyed making our pizzas at the Ennis Bluebonnet Market, local festivals, and private events. Getting to meet and work with other vendors and businesses has been an unforeseen blessing that we are incredibly grateful for.
